Plobo is built to make chatting feel calm, personal and private. This document explains, in plain language, what we collect, how we use it and the controls you have.

We wrote this policy the way we'd want to read one — no jargon, no dark patterns. If anything is unclear, write to us and we'll rewrite it.

§ 01

Who we are

Plobo ("we", "our", "us") operates the Plobo social messaging platform at plobo.in. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using Plobo you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use Plobo.

§ 02

Information we collect

  • Account data — email, username, display name, password (stored as a bcrypt hash), and profile customization (avatar, cover, bio, accent color, theme).
  • Content you create — posts, comments, reactions, stories, reels, direct and group messages, AI chat prompts, notification preferences.
  • Sign-in data — when you sign in with Google via Emergent Auth we receive your email, name and profile picture from Google. We never see your Google password.
  • Technical data — device type, IP address, browser, session tokens, WebSocket connection metadata, and basic diagnostic logs.

How we use your information

  • To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
  • To deliver core features: feed, chats, AI assistant, stories, reels, notifications, discover.
  • To personalise your experience (theme, accent color, suggested people).
  • To send in-app notifications for messages, likes, comments, follows and story activity.
  • To detect abuse, spam, or unauthorised access and to enforce our Terms.
§ 04

Messaging and AI chat

Direct and group messages are private to their participants. Plobo staff do not read private conversations unless required by law or a valid abuse report.

AI chats are processed by third-party language model providers (OpenAI GPT 5.6 Terra via the Emergent Universal LLM key). Your AI prompts and responses are stored so you can revisit them and can be deleted at any time.

§ 05

How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these cases:

  • With other Plobo users — the content you post is visible according to the privacy settings you choose (Everyone, Followers, or Only me).
  • With service providers — hosting, database, and the AI provider strictly to run Plobo.
  • For legal reasons — to comply with lawful requests, protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
§ 06

Your choices and rights

  • Access, edit, or delete your profile from Settings → Profile.
  • Control who can message you, follow you, or see your stories from Settings → Privacy.
  • Turn read receipts, last seen, and online status on or off.
  • Clear or delete any AI conversation at any time.
  • Delete your account by writing to officialplobo@gmail.com — we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
§ 07

Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Messages remain available to their participants until they are deleted. Deleted messages are soft-deleted immediately and purged from backups on a rolling 30-day basis.

§ 08

Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Sessions use signed JWTs or httpOnly cookies. All traffic is served over HTTPS. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication when it becomes available.

Children

Plobo is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

§ 10

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app before they take effect.
